Worth the long waits !
Well it seems only Locals get preference and help here but all i have found is pure incompetence. Always long waits even if u make an app and always seems to be 35-45 min wait. You make an app for say 8:30 am and 9:15 you get seen . And yes i know that sometimes an emergency happens which then i dont mind but give me a break not EVERY SINGLE FN TIME .
Has to be up there as one of the best regional Medical Centres available. I have always found them to be courteous, punctual and very friendly. The one and only time my appointment has been delayed because of an emergency, the friendly staff contacted me and explained there was a 30 minute delay with the doctor. 30 minutes ? the previous surgery I used for many years would have delays up to 3 hours and wouldn't notify you.The Kilcoy General Surgery leads the rest by leaps and bounds.
Friday 21/11/2014 I had traveled down the Great Dividing Range for a 2 day break at the coast. The previous week I had developed a ear infection, when I drove down the range the pain become excruciating. Unable to stand it I stopped at the Kilcoy Medical center.The only people in the reception were 2 receptionists and a doctor all talking to a person at the counter who left on my arrival, there were no patients waiting.I presented with my problem, I was told it would be $72.00. I presented money to pay and was told i was to pay after the consultation. I was given paper work asked if I had medicare or private insurance as I had not been a customer before. then the older pedantic one decided she needed to take my picture????????????because I was a new patient. then told the doctors had gone on lunch, oh and they have a 1 hour tutorial after lunch so it would be 2 hours before any one could see me.I hope the tutorial was for the reception on how not to be a suck up fool.The Doctor had walked back to his room and I needed help. All she had to do was ask the doctor if he could see me.You can stick Kilcoy and all of its inbred receptionists. Two hours later a ruptured ear drum lots of ooze and great service at Noosa Medical Center.
